Reference Image Guidelines

    • If your pet has a unique physical feature - such as colored spots, furry patterns or an interesting colored coat etc, please let me know and include clear images showing those physical attributes.

    • It would help if you tell me your pet's specific breed(s).

    • I would also love to know your pet's name!

    • More than one human subject in a photo is acceptable. However, please keep it to a maximum of 5 subjects.

    • Please avoid providing 0.5x images taken on iPhones or images taken on a wide angle lens. They distort faces and your arms, and they are hard to capture on a painting.

    • Try to also avoid providing images with the 'Bokeh' effect. It looks great in digital portraits, but it is very hard to paint blurry backgrounds using watercolor media. If you do choose to provide a image with 'Bokeh' effects, I may choose a solid background for your subject.

    • If your architecture subject is a detached home, try to take pictures of your home from a distance (like across the street) so the building is not distorted. When you stand close to a building and take a picture, your camera may 'stretch' the building.

    • It would be helpful if there are no cars in the foreground that is blocking your building.

    • I can accept some simple customizations - such as seasonal colors, Halloween decorations or furniture.
